The county process for Rosemont homes

Rosemont sits between Folsom Boulevard, Bradshaw Road, Jackson Highway and South Watt Avenue, just southwest of Rancho Cordova. Unlike its neighbor, it isn't an incorporated city, so the county handles building permits here.

Panel permits can issue online

Sacramento County lists residential electrical panel repair or replacement among the permits that can be applied for electronically and issued automatically once paid. New circuits and EV chargers still need a permit too, which we file through the county's Accela Citizen Access portal.

Inspection, then SMUD reconnect

For a panel job, SMUD takes out the meter, we do the work, and the county inspector has to release it before SMUD reconnects. We request the inspection by 5 p.m. the day before, the county's cutoff for next-day service, so the outage stays within one working day on a normal job.
